Glee's Somebody That I used to Know

I have been patiently waiting for Glee's return and I'm finally glad it will be over soon. Glee will be coming back on our TV screens (or computer screens) on April 10. Can't wait!

Their return will answer a whole bunch of questions. From Quinn's fate to Blaine's family issues. On that note, Matt Bomer (from White Collar) will guest star as Blaine Anderson's older, famous-er brother. The episode is aptly titled: Big Brother.

Ladies and Gentlemen, presenting Cooper Anderson!

Oh, and the Seniors also went out for Senior Skip Day.

Fun times!

And here's is the Full Performance of Gotye's Somebody That I Used to Know

Lovely song, been singing this in my head for quite a while.

Needing/Getting

I have always been a fan of OK Go. I blogged about them and their videos here, here, here and here. Although I may be more of a fan of their videos than their songs. Teehee! Their videos are always highly conceptualized, with amazing attention to details. Their new video for the song Needing/Getting is just as awesome. Plus, if you enjoy cars, you'll like this even more. The video is bankrolled by Chevrolet, and was first shown during one of the Super Bowl's commercial break.

(from left) Damian Kulash, Dan Konopka, Tim Nordwind and Andy Ross

The concept of the video moves around a car, in this case a Chevy Sonic and an obstacle course. The obstacle course btw is tons of pianos, guitars, amplifiers, tubas and everything else in between. Roughly around 1000 in total.

I never knew, jumpsuits can make you look cool!

And just like their previous videos, there are behind-the-scenes videos which explains and shows how everything, well most things are done.

See the USA, in your Chevrolet! (whoops! wrong song)

The song is actually quite good, it has been in my playlist for sometime and is my go to song when I want to shut down the rest of the world. Or in most cases, my seatmates in public transport here in SG.

And here is the video. The video has around 16 M views in time of posting!

Enjoy!

One word: Awesome!

You can actually download the studio version of the song for free through this link. And for the behind the scenes, head on to OK Go's Youtube Channel.

Adele's Big Win

I haven't been blogging in a while, fine, in a loooong time. I don't wanna bore you with another Glee post. So what better way to celebrate 2012 (I told you I'm late) than with Adele.

Yup, that's her. Adele Laurie Blue AdkinsNot only did she has the most wonderful voice, she also gets credit for it. She had just won 6 Grammy's last weekend (Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year, etc.). I mean, she's won all categories where she is nominated!

As most would say, this is definitely her comeback. After some months of silence, literally, she's so back! She had a throat surgery which stopped her for a while. Her tour got cancelled, and she literally wasn't able to speak for some time. Also, she got called "a little too fat" by one Karl Lagerfeld. Yikes!

All that has past though. She's back and on the cover of Vogue's March 2012 issue.

Girl is definitely a looker! Though she was on the cover of other magazine, not one of them has shown this much of her. I mean, hello cleavage!

Here are some outakes from the magazine. Article can be found also here

A Very Gaga Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving weekend everyone! I am late yes, I realize that. But since I don't really celebrate Thanksgiving, might as well share some videos from Lady Gaga!

A Very Gaga Thanksgiving on ABC was shown last Thursday night and she released four videos from the TV special.

She's really pretty in these videos. I am saying it not just because I am a fan but because she really is!

I really like these look on her. So ethereal, soooo pretty!

Anyway, first in line is Yoü And I.

Great performance! The set-up is lovely as well.

I won't be sharing all four videos here. You can google your way to youtube for that! But here's one more.

Marry the Night, which the official video hasn't been released yet. What gives, Gaga?

Mash It Up

I haven't been watching Glee lately, though I am reading their episodes. I'm just too busy (Shocker, I know!)

Anyway, it's a good thing they are releasing video performances from upcoming episodes. Case in point: Glee's Mashup of Adele's Rumour Has It and Someone Like You! Two amazing songs sung by The Troubletones. Featuring the vocals of Naya Rivera (Santana) and Amber Riley (Mercedes).

Great vocals! Wonderful costumes, New Direction's got some competition.

Watch!
Whatchathink?!?

Oh, Sugar as a back-up dancer. Did you even notice that? And Santana look soooo pretty here.

BeyoncƩ: Busy B

I really believe that BeyoncƩ is one of the busiest woman in the music industry nowadays. She is everywhere! She's done music (she sings beautifully and dances like there's no tomorrow), movies, and sidelines into fashion, too. Oh, and she's pregnant, too.

And I must say, I am a fan of most of her music, from her Destiny's Child days to her solo career. She's an amazing woman.

To make my point of her being busy, in a span of a month, she has released 3 music videos for her 4th studio album, "4". It's actually just three weeks, and I wouldn't be surprised if she'll release another video by next week.

Let's count them videos down, and first is Countdown.

A nod to 60's retro, this video showcased B in mostly flats. Probably because she is pregnant. You can only see her in heels a few times. This is actually a really fun video, I could imagine how it was shot, especially the costume changes (see photo above).

Next is probably my favorite in the bunch, Love On Top.

I read somewhere that her inspiration for the video was boybands! And boy, can this girl sing! She sings the chorus an octave higher than the previous and she did this five times! Amazeballs!!!

Last is Party.

Really not my cup of tea, though the fashion here is way beyond! Trailer Trash meets Louis Vuitton, Dolce and Gabbana and Givenchy!

So what do you think? Which was your favorite? Do tell!

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

I wasn't really a fan of coldplay before. They were a little a too old for my taste. However, their new single is really getting into me, in a good way.

The song is catchy, dancable, with a right mix of fun and emotion to it. Anyway, last Sunday, at church (Evangel Family Church), they played the music video for the song and I am pleasantly surprised.

The video is stop motion at its finest!

Nice, right!

ADR in The Edge of Glory

Lady Gaga's "The Edge of Glory" had been running through my head since I have heard it last week from a bus driver's radio nonetheless. I mean, this song had been in the airwaves since it came out last May but I recently fell in love with it again last weekend.

Due to it's popularity, we have seen everyone from Joe Jonas to your neighbor knows it.

Found a video onlice with, Fashion's Lady Gaga, Anna dello Russo dancing and lip-synching to the same song. Awesome! This woman couldn't do nothing wrong.

The video seems to be shot in her apartment with the lavish mural behind her. Enjoy!

Oh Land!

I have recently discovered, through YouTube of course, a video from Oh Land.

Say what, I mean who?

Nanna Oland Fabricius, a danish singer-songwriter born through musically inclined parents. (Dad is an organist, Mom is an opera singer, nonetheless). There is a lot more information out there about her and her music so go ahead and google! LOL.

Anyway, here is the video entitled White Nights. Enjoy!

Good, right? I told you so!

I love the whole concept and the slight folksy sound, too!

I Smile

I Smile
Kirk Franklin

I dedicate this song to recession,
depression and unemployment.
This song's for you.

Today's a new day, and there is no sunshine.
Nothing but clouds, and it's dark in my heart
and it feels like a cold night.
Today's a new day, where are my blue skies,
where is the love and the joy that you promised me
you tell me it's alright.

(I'll be honest with you)
I almost gave up, but a power that I can't explain,
fell from heaven like a shower.

(When I think how much better I'm gonna be when this is over)
I smile, even though I'm hurt see I smile,
I know God is working so I smile,
Even though I've been here for a while
I smile, smile..
it's so hard to look up when you look down.
Sure would hate to see it when you give up now
You look so much better when you smile, so smile.

Today's a new day, but there is no sunshine.
Nothing but clouds, and it's dark in my heart,
and it feels like a cold night.
Today's a new day, tell me where are my blue skies,
where is the love and the joy that you promised me
you tell me it's alright.

(the truth is)
I almost gave up, but a power that I can't explain
fell from heaven like a shower.

I smile, even though I'm hurt see I smile,
I know God is working so I smile,
Even though I've been here for a while
I smile, smile..
it's so hard to look up when you look down.
Sure would hate to see it when you give up now
You look so much better when you smile.

Smile.. for me
Can you just smile... for me.
Smile.. for me
Can you just smile... for me.

ohohoh you look so much better when you
ohohoh you look so much better when you
ohohoh you look so much better when you
ohohoh you look so much better when you
ohohoh you look so much better when you
(and while your waiting)
ohohoh you look so much better when you
(and while your praying)
ohohoh you look so much better when you
(look in the mirror)
ohohoh you look so much better when you
(always remember)
You look so much better when you smile

I almost gave up, but a power that I can't explain
fell from heaven like a shower.

I smile, even though I'm hurt see I smile,
I know God is working so I smile,
Even though I've been here for a while
I smile, smile..
it's so hard to look up when you look down.
Sure would hate to see it when you give up now.
You look so much better when you smile.
so smile.

ohohoh you look so much better when you
ohohoh you look so much better when you
ohohoh you look so much better when you
ohohoh you look so much better when you
ohohoh you look so much better when you
ohohoh you look so much better when you
ohohoh you look so much better when you
ohohoh you look so much better when you
smile...

I just want you to be happy..
I want you to have joy 'cause can't nobody
take that away from you.
I see you.. SMILE!!

Tonight We Gon' Be It On The Floor

What? I don't understand the title, too! It's from J'Lo's hit single "On the Floor".

I have always been a fan of Jennifer Lopez since I was in highschool. That was a looooooooooooong time ago! And I am so glad that she's back on the music scene. She had just released a single from her new album Love? titled "On The Floor".

From  being an Epic Records star, she is now under Island Def Jam Music Group. Although she had released some singles awhile back, it didn't catch up on the radio. This time though, On The Floor is ripping up the charts! In the United States, "On the Floor" made its first chart debut on the Hot Dance Club Songs, debuting at number twenty-six. Additionally it debuted on the US Pop Songs chart at number forty, marking Lopez's first appearance on Pop airplay charts since 2007. "On the Floor" was also noted for being the first song to debut in the top-ten and climb up the chart in its second week.

On the Floor features sample from a 1989 song "Lambada" which plays on her Latin roots. The song and the video is an ode to her Latin roots and to being a back up dancer before making it big. It also features rapper Pitbull.

And so, here is the video. I can't believe she's turning 41 this year! You can see how fit she is on the video. And this video had around 50 million views in time of posting! Good job!

What do you think? Like it? Love it? I am so glad she's back and I even get to see her every week on TV as American Idol's likeable judge.

See I Will Get Over You

No, I am not about to post on moving on as the tile might suggest. It's from Neon Hitch's hit entitled "Get Over U" and I can't get over this song.

Released last January, it has grown on me! Even the slightly creepy and wierd video.

Let's talk about Neon Hitch first. Born in South England, she was a daughter of a lighting technician father. Her mom brought a caravan for them to live in when their house burned down. She started writing poems at a tender age of ten which led to lyrics, and to singing them. (She wrote Ke$ha's Blah Blah Blah)

Anyway, here is the video.

What do you think?

Her album, Beg, Borrow and Steal is now available.

From Runway to Red Carpet: Crazy Grammy Fashionalities

Crazy doesn't always look good, but the red carpet for this year's Grammy's intrigued, satisfied, and made headlines around the world. Some bored me though. Those which made me happy will.

These photos are taken from two sites. The celebrities from Yahoo! and the runway from Style.com.

Enjoy! In no particular order.

Headlining at the top of this list is Miley Cyrus.
The not so young anymore, is wearing a Spring 2011 Roberto Cavalli dress.
Ofira and Lorraine Schwartz jewels are her choice of bling.
Sergio Rossi heels completed her look.

Jennifer Lopez was the red carpet diva on that night.
She is wearing a fully embellished Emilio Pucci dress
and some fierce heels from Christian Louboutin.
The lack of length of the dress was offsetted by the abundance of hair.

Nicki Minaj managed to look sane and insane in this leopard look.
Although she said Givenchy made it for her,
it seems as though the look is from the Fall 2007 Couture runway show.

Sexy and innocent is what I can say on Rihanna's Grammy look.
Riri is wearing a Spring 2011 Jean Paul Gaultier Couture gown for the red carpet.
Nude Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle Plato’ heels is her footwear of choice.
One question though, does she has underwear on?

Jennifer Hudson showed off her sexyness in a Versace dress.
The navy dress is from the Pre Fall 2010 collection.
Sleek tresses and Christian Louboutin sandals completes her look.

Nicole Kidman looked prim and proper. as expected in her Jean Paul Gaultier gown.
The gown is from the designer's Spring 2011 Couture collection.
Pretty!

Selena Gomez looked fresh than ever in a Spring 2011 J. Mendel creation.
The metallic gown is paired with Lorainne Schwartz jewelry,
Brian Atwood shoes and a matching Judith Leiber clutch.

Lea Michele showed off some legs and maybe some more skin at the Grammys
The lacy black dress is from Emilio Pucci.
Black accessories such as the Lorraine Schwartz jewels,
and Christian Louboutin shoes finishes the look.

Yet another Glee star showed up in black.
Dianna Agron wore a stunning Viviene Westwood Gold Label top and skirt.
She matched those with House of Lavande jewelry, a Judith Leiber bag,
and black satin Ferragamo pumps.

This is slightly becoming a Glee post.
Naya Rivera looked cute and sexy in her printed gray mullet dress.
The faux bob hair worked well, too.

Florence Welch of Florence & the Machine looked amazing in the red carpet.
She wore the exact Spring 2011 Givenchy couture look sans the hat.

Selma Blair was beaming as she walked the red carpet.
She is wearing a pregnant-friendly Lanvin, Solange Azagury-Partridge pyramid earrings
and a snake-skin clutch by Kara Ross.

But wait, I have to share this.

Looking like an odd couple, eh!
Both Lenny Kravitz and Cyndi Lauper rocked some serious leather on the red carpet.

So what do you guys think? Share me your comments.

The Lady is at the Grammy's

Lady Gaga that is! Two Gaga posts one after the other. You can't really stop Lady Gaga! At the 53rd Grammy Awards last weekend (I'll be having another post about that later), Stefani Germanotta managed to outdo herself when she walked on the red carpet. Well, she didn't actually walked!

Lady Gaga was carried in her "egg/womb" and was incubating during the red carpet. She was inside the Hussein Chalayan - designed womb and was being carried by male dancers/models wearing Mugler. The lady holding on to the womb is Anne V, and was wearing a dress from Baroness.

If you can't actually see Lady Gaga inside, she's wearing an ensemble from Mugler. I have a photo of that later, I think!

The model's faces has some prosthetics in them, reminiscent of the make up for Alexander McQueen's Spring 2010 collection Plato's Atlantis. What's added are pointy shoulders which Gaga herself has.

And then she was born, Lady Gaga stepped out of her womb in Mugler. She performed for the first time, her new song "Born This Way". I am kinda unsure when I first heard the song as to how will she put drama and theatrically into a dance beat, but she delivered perfectly. Watch!

Her dancers are wearing Mugler in collaboration with Haus of Gaga. The look seems to be inspired by hospital gowns and egg yolks.

Her full performance outfit is composed of a top, skirt, coat, and hat.

Though she did remove some of that to show her pointy shoulders.
Oh, and 80's hair completes the look!

Done! Next!

Her next ensemble is for picking up her award for Best Pop Vocal Album is also from Mugler.

Inset: the bodysuit includes some butt enhancing thingies.

And for her finale look, some fierce Mugler again! Plus some nice mesh sunhat by Franc Fernandez.

Thanks for the people behind the Haus of Gaga!
