Adele's Big Win

I haven't been blogging in a while, fine, in a loooong time. I don't wanna bore you with another Glee post. So what better way to celebrate 2012 (I told you I'm late) than with Adele.

Yup, that's her. Adele Laurie Blue AdkinsNot only did she has the most wonderful voice, she also gets credit for it. She had just won 6 Grammy's last weekend (Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year, etc.). I mean, she's won all categories where she is nominated!

As most would say, this is definitely her comeback. After some months of silence, literally, she's so back! She had a throat surgery which stopped her for a while. Her tour got cancelled, and she literally wasn't able to speak for some time. Also, she got called "a little too fat" by one Karl Lagerfeld. Yikes!

All that has past though. She's back and on the cover of Vogue's March 2012 issue.

Girl is definitely a looker! Though she was on the cover of other magazine, not one of them has shown this much of her. I mean, hello cleavage!

Here are some outakes from the magazine. Article can be found also here

Happy Christmas!

This year marks the first time I'll be celebrating Christmas away from home. I have been living and working here in Singapore since January, 2011. I feel so grown-up just having typed that, not!

Well, my Mom and Dad is here celebrating the holidays with me (and my brother plus his wife and kid)!

From my family to yours, "Have a wonderful time this Christmas! May the Lord richly bless each one of us with a fruitful 2012!"

The Pitoy Moreno Gala

A couple of weekends ago, legendary designer and national artist, Pitoy Moreno presented a selection of over 60 Filipiniana garbs for a charity gala. There were more than 50 stunning pieces shown for the show.

Warning, this post will be photo-heavy!

The gala started with some tribal gear, er ensembles where beaded tops are paired with shiny tapis

Accessories included coral headgear and rope/twine belts.

Loving the metallic skirt paired with nude, but heavily embellished top.

Next was a set of panuela-donning Maria Claras...

...and Barong Tagalog cut from piña fabric.
BTW, I'm intrigued by the lacy vest here.

There were also traditional costumes from different regions for women...

and for men, too.
(Imagine this jacket paired with dark denims, perfect!)

What comes next is a selection of Pitoy's famed Ternos. From more traditional looks to modern ones, his craftmanship and creativity definitely shown through.

Lovely Pinks

Bright Orange, with seven flower appliqués. Not to mention the ones on the sleeves.

I could almost hear the sound of what seems to be capiz shells on this terno.

Interesting shape, this calls for stunning footwear and perfectly pedicured toes.

Fringe!

Simple=Stunning

Sheer cloaks paired with cut-outs.

and oversized shawls

take center-stage.

Here comes the Brides...
in gossamer veils and lovely drop waist gowns.

with fauna and flora embroidered in color

some dots perhaps?

when all else fails, try gold!

And so I leave you, with the legendary.
Pitoy Moreno.
