Moving Out!

I finally managed to pull myself together and put up a new blog which is called "Dandy Bohemian".

What say you? It is the same! Well, it has the same title but with a different URL. I'm gonna try to post more fashion related stuff only and lay off the Glee posts.

So head on over to the Dandy Bohemian!

See you there!

Star Magic Ball 2012

Two years ago, I blogged about the Star Magic Ball. And it was viewed so many times that there has to be repeat performance. Fast forward to now, welcome to the Star Magic Ball 2012.

And I learned that the theme is actually black and white.

Here are my favorites. Enjoy the photos!

First in line are the guys starting with a dapper James Blanco
Although I wish his jacket sleeves were slightly longer to hide some more of the shirt cuffs.

Next is Piolo Pascual in Costume National.

Last for the guys is Enchong Dee in a studded suit by Michael Cinco.

And now the ladies...
In a lovely black column dress, here comes Carmina Villaroel
Kinda reminds me of Angelina Jolie's 2009 Oscar gown.

Nikki Gil looked smashing in a textured dress created by Joel Escober.
The Great Gatsby-inspired perhaps?

Angelica Panganiban looked adorable in a dress by Elie Saab
Her uhm, chest looked sad, though.

Pretty Young Thing!
Megan Young wore a black Randy Ortiz dress with a clutch from Aranaz
and accessories by Eric Manansala.

Adding some edge to the red carpet,
Nikki Valdez wore a leather cut-out dress by Rajo Laurel.

Dawn Zulueta in Givenchy. Classic Beauty!

Another pretty young thing,
Julia Montes wore a heavily textured and embellished Pepsi Herrera dress.

I am so happy I get to see this lady again. I am such a 90's kid.
Kaye Abad in a fringed number by Rajo Laurel.

The Black Swan swoops in the end.
Bea Alonzo in a feather dress by Rajo Laurel.

Glee's Somebody That I used to Know

I have been patiently waiting for Glee's return and I'm finally glad it will be over soon. Glee will be coming back on our TV screens (or computer screens) on April 10. Can't wait!

Their return will answer a whole bunch of questions. From Quinn's fate to Blaine's family issues. On that note, Matt Bomer (from White Collar) will guest star as Blaine Anderson's older, famous-er brother. The episode is aptly titled: Big Brother.

Ladies and Gentlemen, presenting Cooper Anderson!

Oh, and the Seniors also went out for Senior Skip Day.

Fun times!

And here's is the Full Performance of Gotye's Somebody That I Used to Know

Lovely song, been singing this in my head for quite a while.

How to Tie a Scarf

I have always liked scarves. Though I am living in the tropics, crazy aircon weather allows me to wear it. I wear scarves to work in Manila and to the malls, cinemas, etc. They add color, print, or something to whatever your wearing.

I came across a great video from Youtube by Wendy Nguyen. You can check out her website here. The video shows you how to tie a scarf in 25 ways in 4.5 minutes. The video is so fun to watch and I could imagine all the hard work that went into shooting it.

Here is the video:

Oh and the video was actually posted last year! Ha! The video also links to complete instructional videos of all 25 ways. Very helpful!

Cute, right?!?

Dinner with Dolce & Gabbana

I have always enjoyed food! and no, this isn't turning into a food blog soon. I just wanted to share a fashion editorial from the pages of the April issue of Harper's Bazaar.

Featuring designer duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana of Dolce and Gabbana. The two throw an Italian feast for London's It girls.

Clockwise from top left: Jade Williams, Mary Charteris, Cara Delevigne, and Florrie Arnold.

Lovely photos, right? Though I wouldn't suggest wearing your Dolce duds while eating pizza next time.

Fashion and Food isn't the best combination for some. Stains, Diets, just be careful with that spaghetti next time...

Get Back, Stay Back (Updated)

Get Back, Stay Back is one of the editorials in the sports issue of V Magazine (Oh, BTW it features an androgynous Jennifer Lopez on the cover, in a codpiece nonetheless). The fashion story stars the gorgeous Lara Stone, styled by Carine Rotfield, and Photography by Nick Knight.

It features Krav Maga which translates from Hebrew as 'contact combat': Krav (קרב) meaning 'battle' and Maga (מגע) meaning 'contact'. Krav Maga is a practical and realistic system which teaches how to prevent, avoid, deter, or deal with all kinds of violent threats and attacks, including those which involve weapons. Krav Maga educates people in the subjects of self defence, self protection, fighting and combat skills, as well as the skills to defend others. Krav Maga is taught in a unique and comprehensive manner and was developed in Israel under realistic conditions.

Brutal Chic / Power Dressing

Lara Stone is always stunning and in great fighting form. Lovely heels from Prada, too!

I love the combination of self defence and high fashion. Lara wore some serious Spring/Summer 2012 threads from Balenciaga, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Valentino and more.

You can see more of her in videos from SHOWstudio.

in Ralph Lauren's mint green evening gown

You can also watch a whole slew of video's from SHOWstudio's Youtube Channel. Below are some of my favorites.

March is also International Women's Month and this editorial is quite fitting, right?

Empowerment never looked this good!

Plus, here's a video from VMagazine's YoutubeChannel featuring Photographer Nick Knight.

Needing/Getting

I have always been a fan of OK Go. I blogged about them and their videos here, here, here and here. Although I may be more of a fan of their videos than their songs. Teehee! Their videos are always highly conceptualized, with amazing attention to details. Their new video for the song Needing/Getting is just as awesome. Plus, if you enjoy cars, you'll like this even more. The video is bankrolled by Chevrolet, and was first shown during one of the Super Bowl's commercial break.

(from left) Damian Kulash, Dan Konopka, Tim Nordwind and Andy Ross

The concept of the video moves around a car, in this case a Chevy Sonic and an obstacle course. The obstacle course btw is tons of pianos, guitars, amplifiers, tubas and everything else in between. Roughly around 1000 in total.

I never knew, jumpsuits can make you look cool!

And just like their previous videos, there are behind-the-scenes videos which explains and shows how everything, well most things are done.

See the USA, in your Chevrolet! (whoops! wrong song)

The song is actually quite good, it has been in my playlist for sometime and is my go to song when I want to shut down the rest of the world. Or in most cases, my seatmates in public transport here in SG.

And here is the video. The video has around 16 M views in time of posting!

Enjoy!

One word: Awesome!

You can actually download the studio version of the song for free through this link. And for the behind the scenes, head on to OK Go's Youtube Channel.

Sunday are for Friends, too

Yay for another post! A little more personal this time. Just realized I haven't posted anything personal for about a year now, so here it goes.

There are a lot of Filipinos working here in Singapore, some of them are my friends even. I had a classmate in college who started working here last November yet we haven't seen each other. I know that SG is just a small country but still, our schedules seem to not match all the time.

Thank God, after about four months, I finally got to meet her. And she brought her friend, too.

We went to this a nature park called Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve just today and I want to share some pictures.

Beautiful Mangrove roots take center stage as water recedes due to the low tide.

Stopping for Lunch (From Left: Grace, Gerce, Nica and Me)

Girl/Boy Band?!?

Smile! Thank God for tripod and camera's with timers.

Lookie! It's a crab with only one huge pincer and what seems to be only one eye!

I love this little structures along the Mangrove Arboretum.

The Aerie.

Sungei Buloh Wetlands Reserve is a nature park where mangroves and wetland wildlife thrive. It is home to mangroves and associated wildlife as well as to resident birds such as herons, kingfishers and sunbirds. For more information, please visit their website.

Adele's Big Win

I haven't been blogging in a while, fine, in a loooong time. I don't wanna bore you with another Glee post. So what better way to celebrate 2012 (I told you I'm late) than with Adele.

Yup, that's her. Adele Laurie Blue AdkinsNot only did she has the most wonderful voice, she also gets credit for it. She had just won 6 Grammy's last weekend (Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year, etc.). I mean, she's won all categories where she is nominated!

As most would say, this is definitely her comeback. After some months of silence, literally, she's so back! She had a throat surgery which stopped her for a while. Her tour got cancelled, and she literally wasn't able to speak for some time. Also, she got called "a little too fat" by one Karl Lagerfeld. Yikes!

All that has past though. She's back and on the cover of Vogue's March 2012 issue.

Girl is definitely a looker! Though she was on the cover of other magazine, not one of them has shown this much of her. I mean, hello cleavage!

Here are some outakes from the magazine. Article can be found also here
