It Should be Cold by Now

At least not in the tropics. What we have here is an almost sweater weather. I sometimes envy those living in countries where they enjoy four seasons. Then again, Winter may be too much for me too handle.

Anyway, here is an idea from the guys at Mango. Featuring Anja Rubik on their Fall Winter 2010 collection ads. The photos were taken by Terry Richardson. Wait, what?!? These are from Terry?!? They don't seem like his signature sleazy photos.

Here are the photos, more of them here.

Black and Gray are good colors for Fall Winter, almost

a little boho wouldn't hurt, so go ahead and
pair a printed dress with suede booties for Fall

Menswear inspired Womenswear  is everything,
at least in this photo. Hat, blazer and the boyfriend jean.
Go for comfy in an over-sized slouchy knit cardigan with flat boots

Giddy up, jingle horse pick up your feet!*
Head on to the west for inspiration.

*Jingle Bell Rock lyrics

Brown is really a predominant color for Fall Winter.

Let's end this post with my favorite shot of the bunch!

I said on my last post that it was the last for the year, but here I am again!
Anyway, Happy Holidays!

Glee and Personal Updates

I was thinking of putting this blog in two parts but I'm feeling lazy today. I mean, c'mon, it is a Monday...

Anyway, let's start with some glee news update. As most of you gleeks know by now, Glee is on hiatus until Spring. Although they're actually still taping/shooting scenes for most days, they're also doing some R&R. Proof? Check out this tweet from Darren Criss aka Blaine.

Seems like Darren will be going back to the Philippines in time for the holidays. FYI, lumpia is the Filipino version of spring rolls. He's half-Filipino, in case you didn't know that.

I also saw the Part 2 of "Fans ask GLEE" and if you missed part 1, check out this link. And here is the video.

Now, onto the personal update part. I will probably stop blogging for a while. ;-(

Although I am gonna miss it, I have reasons.
  1. It's Holiday season! Christmas is about 5 days away then, New Year comes!
  2. I don't know if I should say this, but.... please don't tell everyone else, kay? I am resigning from work for personal reasons. My last day is a couple of days away and I would be busy handling stuff regarding that.
  3. Lastly, at least for now, I will be traveling to somewhere else early next year.

So, there you go! I can't say see you soon, though since I'll be MIA for awhile.

I'll just say, Happy Christmas and a Blessed 2011!!!

Runway to Red Carpet: Premiere Looks

Disclaimer: These photos are from Yahoo! Movies and are curated by Matt Whitfield. I am just here to share my thoughts on these looks.

The end of the year calls for Top 10s of everything. From, top 10 fashion boo boos, top 10 movies, and now, Top 10 Premiere Looks.

Let's start with the Top 10! It's Scarlett Johansson.

Wearing an Armani Prive look from the Spring 2010 Couture show. ScarJo shines at the LA Premiere of Iron Man 2 last April, 2010.
I think she is also wearing the same shoe as the model, but I may be wrong.
The collection was inspired by the moon, btw.

Number 9 on Yahoo! list is Zoe Saldana wearing an orange version of the Lanvin Spring 2010 dress on the right.
She paired the dress with Christian Louboutin python peep-toes and a leopard clutch for the LA premiere of Death at a Funeral.
The bright color really suits her skintone. Love it!

Next is Kristen Stewart in Marchesa Fall 2010 mini dress. She matched it with black Roger Vivier heels.
The look is for her the Rome premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse last June, 2010.
I actually think the dress really works for her slightly boyish frame, probably because of the applique which adds interest. Quite a vamp!

7th on the list is Cameron Diaz looking very pretty in a Bottega Veneta mini from the Spring 2010 collection and Pierre Hardy peep-toes.
The actress brought up the belt to the waist for the Munich premiere of Knight and Day, July 2010.

At number 6 is Angelina Jolie and her fiery Atelier Versace gown. This is for the Moscow premiere of Salt, July, 2010. No accessories were needed, not even an updo, this look is perfect!

Whoops! It's Jennifer Aniston, and she's a number ahead of Angelina Jolie.
Anyway, she is wearing head-to-toe Donna Karan Spring 2010 for the NYC Premiere of The Bounty Hunter, March 2010.

Next is Gwyneth Paltrow on number 4 spot. She is wearing a sexy Chado Raplh Rucci dress from Spring 2011 paired with sky-high Lanvin heels. This photo was taken last month on the Nashville premiere of Country Strong.

Top 3 is Sarah Jessica Parker, seen here in a Spring 2010 Valentino Couture gown.
She matched the bright hue of the dress with Silver Ferragamo Pumps.
This is of course, from the NY premiere of Sex and the City 2.

Top 2 is pixie-haired Emma Watson for the London premiere of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1.
As you can see on the picture on the right, the Rafael Lopez dress had been modified to fit her. The bottom part of the dress went MIA on Emma.
She matched it with Charlotte Olympia pumps.

Drum roll please!
Natalie Portman in Rodarte for the 67th Venice Film Festival premiere of Black Swan.
A red gown on a red carpet usually means disaster but the length of the tulle dress was perfect for petite Natalie. And as a the face of Dior, she also carried a quilted Dior clutch.

Tom Ford is Back

So he is really back in womenswear. Are you ladies excited? He's bringing sexy back better that Justin Timberlake. Need proof? Check out the photos I got from W Magazine's site. It features Tom Ford designs on model Lara Stone and was styled by Alex White. Interesting right?

As the W said: Tom Ford is back—and in a big way.

Head on to the link for more.

And below are the photos.

Tom Ford's shredded organza shrug, silk crepe dress, satin corset, and shoes, designed for Rachel Feinstein.

Says Ford:  "Every time I see Rachel, I am dazzled by her smile, and I think about color. Rachel is all about color."

Here is the runway look modeled by Rachel Feinstein.

Tom Ford's embroidered silk dress with fringe, designed for Karen Elson.

Says Ford: "Karen is such an exotic beauty, I always love dressing her in a color that plays off her skin tone and hair color. The cobalt blue of the dress seemed exactly right."

Tom Ford's double-silk georgette kimono catsuit, designed for Lou Doillon.

"Lou is young and has an amazing body." says Ford. "She was the perfect person to wear a catsuit - le smoking."

Tom Ford's sequined and embroidered silk dress with netting, designed for Daphne Guiness.

"Daphne is about structure. So the most important thing is that her dress is corseted and shows of her incredible figure." Says Ford, "She is also not a shrinking violet and can pull off fashion looks that many would be afraid of. I wanted her to have one of the most dramatic looks in the show."

Runway look on Daphne herself.

These photos would be included in W's January 2011 issue.

What happened to Glee?

There wasn't a new episode last night and there would not be for a while. I know, it's sad and I don't know how to blog about Glee now. Except maybe share some photos and videos I got online.

Glee is on hiatus for about two months and they'll be back on February 6, 2011! What episode you might ask? It will be the epic Super Bowl Episode. From what I hear/see/read actually, they'll be singing Michael Jackson's Thriller. I mean, how awesome can that be?!?

Anyway, let me share to you first this video from youtube. It shows Lea Michele trying on a football uniform.

Cute, right? But, wait... There's more! This time, let me share some photos.

Lea Michele in full on Football uniform. Nice!
Of course, she is number 1!!!

Lea with her football buddies, Cory and Chord.

Its the Hummel family, together with a friend, Blaine!
How awesome does Chris' facial expression is?!?

Wait, why is Lea jumping?
Did they already win? Oooops, spoiler!!!

Last one is a short video in celebration for them hitting the 10 million mark in Facebook!!!!!!

It says Part 1 so expect more!

Burberry Prorsum Menswear Pre-Collection Autumn Winter 2011

That is a long title!

Pre-Fall 2011 for Burberry Prorsum's Menswear line came out yesterday and I just have to share them. I love what Christopher Bailey had been doing in Burberry. The eponymous check had been incorporated in almost everything and the Trench coat has come out into a new light.

So, here's a look at the excellent new Burberry Prorsum Menswear Pre-Collection, gearing up for the winter of 2011 a lighter shade of autumn colours comes forward giving a more youthful note to the already famed jackets. And for the ladies, here is a link to the womenswear collection.

Enjoy! I placed commentaries on the looks to break the monotony of an all photo post.  Click on the photos to enlarge... like Extra Large!

An almost black-ish gray starts is the 1st and 2nd look.
I love the shirt on the right with what seems to be an embellished pocket.
It looks soooo soft!

The herringbone trench on the left looks perfect with the cashmere sweater.
And the velvet trench on the right is nothing short of great!

The velvet suit on the right, check!

The ladies belt looks interesting, but not as interesting as the man's trench coat!
I wonder what type of fabric would that be?!?

Burberry really has its way of making their outerwear intersting.
Case in point: the man's jacket is padded nylon with a fur lining.

A little color perhaps? The orange-y pinkish sweater on the right looks pretty interesting, no?

The sweater on the right with a tree print? Yes I want, too.

After a ton of brown-based looks, let's try blue this time.
The fur front sweater on the right looks delicious.
I prefer the looks on the right, right?

And now, we're going solo. No more loving for the one on the right.
But this trench coat equates to LOVE!

Something's wrong on this look, but the shoes are definitely right on!

Great colors are inevitable for pre-fall and this look did not disappoint.
The yellowish nylon thermal vest coupled with the non-bright orange mohair, or is it cashmere sweater?!?
Sweater whatever!

The padded nylon jacket with fur collar is genius.
A perfect mix of casual and esquisite.

Orange, they say, would be the "it" color of 2011.
(they = the guys over at NYFW)
This orange jacket would be a good addition to anyone's closet come pre-fall.

Well, what do you know? There is a tree printed shirt here.
Yay! And look at those velvet trousers!

A puffy trench is layered over what seems to be a camel hair coat,
basic, simple, comfortable.

The blue sweater is a modern classic. The details near the collar is a classic.
What makes it modern is the fit.

There is a basic black tuxedo suit, too.

Plus a trench version of the jacket.
Nice, right?

Again, I urge you to click on the photos to see them in all their glory.

2010 Hollywood Style Awards (Glee Version)

Last December 12, Glee's Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Jayma Mays and Chris Colfer were on hand to present and accept at the 2010 Hollywood Style Awards in Westwood CA.The event was held at the Armand Hammer Museum. It is an annual fete that honors the industry's top make-up artists, designers, and stylists.

What were they wearing? Check out the photos below.

Lea Michele arrives on the red, er black carpet wearing a white ankle-length frock from The Row.
Not very flattering but her hair and make up is flawless. Proof?

Here is a close-up of her fluffy hair and her pretty smile.
Not to be outdone, her finger carry a Lorraine Schwartz ring.

Lea was there to present the Hair Stylist of the Year to...

Her friend and hair stylist, Mark Townsend.
See more of his works here.

Also in attendance is Chris Colfer, who shares a happy moment with Lea Michele.

Chris Colfer wore a white dress shirt paired with a casual moto jacket and gray denim jeans.
Its a perfect casual formal look.

On to another resident Glee fashionista, Jayma Mays.
The ginger-haired, doe-eyed beauty wore a greenish Burberry Prorsum dress.
She matched it with brown booties and a shimmery clutch.

I just had to include this photo.
This is Jayma Mays together with his husband, British actor Adam Campbell.
How cute to these couples get?!?

Back to the Style Awards, Chris and Jayma were there to award Glee's
Costumer Lou Edrich the Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design.

Cory Monteith was also present, for what reason? You'll see...

Cory and his smirk, were there to accept the award for Future Male Style Icon.
Congratulations, Cory! We'll have to wait if he will live up to that award.
