Amy Winehouse for Fred Perry

Yes, you read that right. Amy Winehouse has designed a collection for Fred Perry.

For Fall 2010, Amy has been asked by the guys from Fred Perry to do a collaboration with them. She does not only had a hand at designing, she also modeled for the lookbook. More photos here.

She cleans up nicely in a pique shirt paired with a gray pencil skirt and red heels.

Science Fiction, Double Feature

I can never be more excited for Glee tonight. They let us watch an old episode last week, Hairography for those in the US while the season two pilot was shown for those here in the Philippines. They had hyped up this Halloween episode so much, it has become, well, too much.

Amber Riley as Dr. Frank-N-Furter
A lot of fans were surprised by her role of a transvestite, but its fine with me.

And so, here is another video or two from them. The first one is set in the choir room which they had chosen the roles they'll be playing. I'd like to commend Mr.Schuester for his statement about the arts, (watch video for proof) even Britanny agrees.

Plus Sue's Corner! I missed this and totally forgot about her stint as a part of the local news bureau. Her topic, Halloween and the lost case of "fear".

Of course, the title of this post comes from the music of Rocky Horror Show. This will probably the first song we'll be hearing on the Rocky Horror Glee Show because this is part of the opening credits.

So, are you guys excited?

Gucci and the Babies Part Two

I blogged about the Gucci and UNICEF team up last week here and just found a sneak peek today. (Sorry, I'm not a very resourceful blogger.) Which makes this post part 2!

The video features Gucci's creative director Frida Giannini, Jennifer Lopez and footage of what has happened during the shoot. (warning: cute little babies right ahead!) Below is the entire video. See Marc Anthony and Jennifer on set with their adorable twins and get access to all the behind the scenes action from the Gucci children's ad campaign.

Plus some photos from Gucci's Facebook page.

The rain boots are obviously tacky/cute

My mom would love this!

I would probably wear this if it came in my size and if I can afford it.

Perfect 10

Anna dello Russo is on the cover of 10 Magazine.

She wears Balmain dress and Giuseppe Zanotti boots on the cover. Inside, it features 12 amazing outfits some of which she has worn on Fashion Week. How did I know? Well, Anna has included a backstage video and I counted all the outfits she has worn. There was the Pucci fur coat, Celine jacket, and Dolce & Gabbana romper among many others. Check it out below:

The issue will hit newstands on October 26. Snap! That's today! Unfortunately, Philippines does not carry 10, or not! I'll have to check.

Have a Gleeful Holiday!

Christmas is just about two months from today and if you are looking for a perfect gift to me, (hint*) read on!

As y'all know, I am a fan of Glee and Christmas is one of my favorite holidays. There would be food aplenty, gifts to wrap and open, meeting friends at Christmas day, eating (again!) and we can almost bundle up in a sweater since it would be colder than the usual Philippine heat. Now, there is another thing that will make Christmas better, Christmas carols sung by the guys from glee!

And here is the complete list of songs with the corresponding singer/s grabbed from here.

1. We Need A Little Christmas (Jenna Ushkowitz, Amber Riley, Chris Colfer)
2. Deck The Rooftop (Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Naya Rivera, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, and Jenna Ushkowitz)
3. Merry Christmas Darling (Lea Michele)
4. Baby, It’s Cold Outside (Chris Colfer and Darren Criss)
5. The Most Wonderful Day Of The Year (Chord Overstreet, Mark Salling, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Jenna Ushkowitz, and Heather Morris)
6. Last Christmas (Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Kevin McHale, Mark Salling, Jenna Ushkowitz, and Chris Colfer)
7. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (Lea Michele, Amber Riley, Naya Rivera, and Jenna Ushkowitz)
8. O Christmas Tree (Matthew Morrison)
9. Jingle Bells (Cory Monteith, Mark Salling, and Kevin McHale)
10. You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch (k.d. lang and Morrison)
11. Angels We Have Heard On High (Amber Riley)
12. O Holy Night (Lea Michele)

The album comes out at November 16, about three weeks from their yuletide episode (airing on December 7).

Btw, I'll be having a huge event on Friday (see here) and will be missing out on blogging for a while.

Last Year at Marienbad

I had professed my love for both Chanel and Alexander McQueen on their Spring 2011 collection but I had not posted Chanel's entire runway show. Allow me to do just that on this post.

Last Year at Marienbad - the title of Chanel Spring 2011 (and this post, too) comes from a 1961 movie of the same name, an avant-garde film done in a surrealism manner (Read: Inception circa 1960's), where dreams and reality are blended into it. On to Chanel show: The outifits shown are classics done in new fabrics. Karl had reconfigured the classic suit into A-line jacket paired either shorts or skirts and done in spring colors. Towards the ending, a slew of little black dresses paraded down the runway. On that note, the runway was huge! It features three water fountains, an 80-piece orchestra on one end, and a black and white (and a little gray) garden of epic proportions. Want proof?

The 80-orchestra provided the music for the runway show.

whew!

Here are some runway photos.

Gucci and the Babies

Gucci has just launched their kids line and it is adorable. The advertising campaign features Jennifer Lopez and her twins Max and Emme. Shot by Mert and Marcus on location in Malibu, the cute little tykes was pictured with their mother beach side. The launch of the campaign was also in celebration of Gucci's partnership with UNICEF. Gucci has pledged US$ 1 million for "Schools of Africa". Here are the photos:

Adorable, right? Hopefully, these kids grow up to be beautiful people inside and out. On that note, I have a confession to make...I don't like Gucci, their aesthetics do not appeal to me. However, I am such a fan of Jennifer Lopez when I was in high school and I couldn't get myself to not like her. Now that she is a mother, I think she had mellowed down and I'm happy we can see her on this campaign with her children.

Never Been Kissed

The title may seem like an old movie Drew Barrymore had starred at but this post has nothing to do with her, unless she's on Glee. No? Well, nevermind. Since we have to wait for next week for a new episode of Glee (The Rocky Horror Glee Show), two weeks after that comes "Never Been Kissed". Although I don't think the title really has anything to do with the movie because the episode is about controlling urges. Whatever that means, we just have to wait until November 9. Want more spoilers? Maybe later, let me post photos from Episode 7.

Puck is back from juvy! See leftmost part of the picture.

Sam and Quinn, would their relationship blossom?

The boys... in bowties and dapper suits!?!

They clean up nicely, don't you think?

Looks like Rachel went back to her first love, animal-printed sweaters!

The girls wear leather for what seems to be a rock number, another Paramore song perhaps?

Sing!

Now on to more spoliers!

On November 16, Gwyneth Paltrow arrives to fill in for Mr. Schuester while Sue Sylvester takes over Principal Figgins! Yikes! Be afraid! Be very afraid!!!

And on November 23, Sue's mother will arrive just as New Directions prepare for Sectionals. Who is Sue's mother? Carol Burnet!

Little Miss Maximalist

Guess who?

She is an Italian stylist working for Japanese Vogue as Creative Director. She has a miniature pincher named Cucciolina. And she never repeats her outfits. She is Anna dello Russo. After conquering the internet with her own blog and pages over pages in fashion blogs worldwide, she is now prominently featured in a couple of magazines for November, W and Hercules, this woman cannot be stopped.

As slim as her hangers, she wears Yves Saint Laurent floppy hat and transparent cape with Dolce & Gabbana underwear.

She lives and breathes fashion and as wmag writer J. J. Martin puts it.

"she has morphed into Miss Maximalist—picture the ballsiness of Lady Gaga and the inventory of Imelda Marcos rolled into one supercharged style hurricane."
I love her passion for fashion. She has two apartments in Milan situated next to each other. Apartment one is for her and her dog, while Apartment two is for her clothes. Her 4000 pairs of shoes and 250 tuxedo jackets and tons of clothes live there. Although she has a walk-in closet in Apartment one, this only has new clothes and her furs. Her old clothes are placed in apartment two or worse, down in the basement in the "Fashion Graveyard".
Here are more photos taken by Juergen Teller for W Magazine.
Her entire bedroom and bed in Apartment one is covered in silk leopard spots.
She's wearing a Dolce & Gabbana bodysuit in this photo.
She starts the day with swimming and yoga to keep her slim physique healthy.
This is probably what she wears in real life doing yoga, bathing suit by Comme des Garçons for Speedo and Christian Louboutin high-heeled fox booties.

Pictured above is Apartment two has walls covered in blown-up photos of the gilded interiors of Palermo's Palazzo Gangi.
Not to mention the tons of jewelry that can be located there
Just as gilded, she wears a gold coin-encrusted Dolce & Gabbana suit.

In her Roksanda Ilincic suit with huge feathered shoulders

And for her Hercules spread, Check this out:

Ramon Valera for the Masses

Ramon Oswalds Valera was a Filipino designer designer from 1930's to 1960's known for his elegant gowns and ternos. What's a terno? It is the modern interpretation of Philippines National Costume for women. Anyway, he was named National Artist in 2006 making him the first National Artist in Fashion. He was also one of the first male fashion designers in the Philippines. His gowns were worn by the finest during the Golden Age of Philippine Society. Those were the times when dressing up truly means "dressing up" and parties were lavish and opulent. He has dressed all of the first ladies from Aurora Quezon to Imelda Marcos.

Back to 2010! Freeway, a local retail brand, is paying homage to Ramon Valera. Modern derivations of Valera’s signature creative cuts, elegant lines, colorization, and opulent beadwork are incorporated to tops and dresses for the Holiday 2010 collection. Below are some photos and if you want more information, check out this link.

First, a sample of Ramon Valera's gowns:

Maritess Pineda's sleeveless ballgown with a skirt showcasing circular cascades of pearl beadwork.
